Class description

Students will learn intricate foot rhythms adavus, hand gestures mudras, and facial expressions to convey stories of Indian culture and mythology from this ancient dance form. Classes begin with adavus and students learn footwork before advancing to more complex patterns. Storytelling is a core component from the beginning with emphasis on mudras.  Our style of Bharatanatyam represents the Tanjore Balasaraswati lineage.
